Caravaggio? Where?

On Mattino di Padova you promote the exhibition "Caravaggio, Lotto and Ribera" in the collection of the scholar Roberto Longhi. The collection is definitely interesting for the high value of individual works, but the disappointment is great to find that there is Caravaggio's' only the well-known "boy bitten by a lizard," increases the disappointment in having to see works of this caliber lit incorrectly, the lighting used for the show is not worthy of a museum such as that used in the rest of the civic museums Padua. The exhibition will visit soon if you want imegnare well the rest of the tour, I recommend you buy a ticket for the exhibition at the Civic Museums, unfortunately, with the 8 euro ticket you have access only to collezoni Longhi then you will be redirected to the output leaving only a glimpse of the remaining sites of the museums. Even in Venice when the shows are themed (eg Tintoretto) help you with just € 10 to visit the entire Academy.
If you like the style of Caravaggio, then go to visit the exhibition otherwise turn away, then if you want to visit the Scrovegni Chapel near you should book early, at least one day before.

"Caravaggio, Lotto, Ribera '
The collection of Roberto Longhi

The Museums are home from November 19 March 28, 2010 at the exhibition "Caravaggio, Lotto, Ribera. Four centuries of masterpieces from the Fondazione Longhi. " Among the works from the home library of the Florentine art historian is also "The boy bitten by lizard by Caravaggio.

Caravaggio, Lotto, Dosso Dossi, Ribera, Moray, Cerano, Valentin de Boulogne. These are just some of the masters who presents the exhibition "Caravaggio, Lotto, Ribera. Four centuries of masterpieces from the Fondazione Longhi, "that from November 19 to March 28 is housed within the Eremitani Museum of Padua.

A charming path that compares the masterpieces of the collection to the more expensive Longhi art historian and art gallery of Eremitani Museum, which houses the works of Venetian artists favored by the same Longhi.

In all more than fifty works from different periods. From the thirteenth century, then to touch the fourteenth century, with examples of Bolognese painting, and get to the cultural exchanges between the main centers of Italian art between the fifteenth and sixteenth century represented by a group of masters such as Dosso Dossi and Lorenzo Lotto Sustris Lambert.

But more exciting is that the core consists of paintings of the seventeenth century, among which stand on the famous "Boy bitten by a lizard by Caravaggio and paintings by Ribera, Borgianni of Valentin and Mattia Preti.

The exhibition is open every day from 9 to 19 (closed on Mondays except bank holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and January 1). The entrance ticket costs € 8 (reduced € 6, special reduced € 4). Information and bookings call 049 2010102.
